As an RVer, you know you've been parked too long when there are cobwebs spread out across the inside of the motorhome's windshield. At Les and Gloria's in WA, we had to leave the driver's side window down just a fraction of an inch to feed the fiber optic cable inside for our Internet and obviously this creepy crawler found it's way through the opening. I'm bug-a-phobic and sent a small spider to the great cobweb in the sky when it ventured into view a week or so before our departure date but until the morning we left and opened the drapes we had no idea how busy that little arachnid had been.
Great discovery last night when we set up in Moon Mountain RV Resort! Phil found the extra water hose and the regulator he thought we left behind. They were in the wrong compartment covered up by the welcome mat! We hadn't even looked for them because we DID leave the jack pads. Two blocks from Gloria and Les's house, the cell phone rang and I hear Gloria's voice saying, "First rule: check, double check and triple check before leaving." Then she told us that Les was chasing us down to give them to us so we pulled over. Good advice and so far, we haven't left anything else behind!
Found Les Schwab Tire Center in Woodburn yesterday morning and had all six tires and the air shocks checked and air added. All needed at least 10 lbs. and more and our ride improved immensely. Duh!
Being ex-restauranteurs, Phil and I cannot help critiquing every place we eat and are always on the lookout for the perfect combination including a variety of menu choices, impeccable service, eye appeal, proper temperature, great taste along with a realistic price. We've never had a problem paying more if the dining experience included all of the above but sadly, so far we're striking out. It goes without saying that we are difficult to please but we have had mostly "goods" without one "great". One came real close but the lack of menu choices and ridiculously high prices knocked it down a notch. I'm compiling a data base and hope to someday add a link in my blog where the eating establishments we've tried will be rated. However, don't hold your breath for that one!
It's below freezing this morning and Phil had just reminded me that we're leaving in 90 minutes in order to get over the Siskiyou Mountains during the middle of the day. It's bare and dry today but snow is in their forecast starting Saturday night ... an experience we want to avoid.
Don't know if I'll have Internet tonight so I may not write again until we reach Pleasanton where I can use my sister's computer. Have many pictures to share but will wait to do that until later. Stay tuned............................
