At the top of the stairs in the Great Stair Hall is a statue of Diana, Goddess of the Hunt created in 1924 as a weathervane for the top floor of the 2nd Madison Square Garden in New York City by Augustus Saint-Gaudens.
The statue was too large and when Diana lost her cape she was purchased by the PMOA and given this special place at the museum.
