Today is a travel day for us. It rained last night and is a little breezy this morning. Even though it's still 60' at this moment, the forecasters are saying it's going to get cold. Phil says, "Time to leave and get farther south!" The beauty along the eastern seaboard of Virginia is especially lovely this time of year and I've enjoyed every minute of being here. The vibrant oranges, yellows and fiery reds line nearly every street and highway. Virginia has done a VERY good job of camouflaging the consumer's amenities inside the cities. Unless you have a map or know where you're going, you could become very lost driving these tree lined roads looking for restaurants, gas stations and stores because there are so few landmarks. Signage is fairly good, although unobtrusive and you have to pay close attention. Phil and I have taken "the scenic route" many times while getting around in the Williamsburg area this past week.

So many have asked us about WHEN we'll be WHERE that yesterday we tried to put together a tentative travel plan but there are so many factors to consider, we didn't have much luck. The truth is that we're not real interested in a "plan" for want of a better word. The beauty of doing what we are doing and living the way we live is the ability to be spontaneous and be (within reason of course), "footloose and fancy free." Today, we are headed south in the general direction of Lexington South Carolina where we hope to visit my cousin Dolly and her husband Charles. Weather permitting, we will spend some time exploring in North Carolina as we pass through.

Well, Phil is up and about so it's time to get this show on the road ... stay tuned!
Note: The sun just came out ... yeah!!!
