Joy and Phil discussed and researched the lifestyle. They worked together for nearly five years in preparation for their dream of full time RV living. Phil retired in June 2004; they moved into the perfect motorhome; held the last garage sale; sold the vehicles, boat and house; bought the Ford Ranger; crossed off what seemed like thousands of to-dos on the lists and at last, the day of departure arrived. About Me
- Joy and Phil
- "About Me" ... each time I read that heading, I laugh and I've just got to make a smart remark ... no, it's not all about ME ... it's about "US" so, please read on. Julie Joy "retired" (she wasn't old enough to be eligible for any money so actually ... she stopped working out of the home)in 1994 and Phil followed ten years later in 2004. They had been partners for nearly nineteen years and were very excited about the newest adventure they would share starting ASAP that will continue "as long as it's fun and we're mentally and physically able." Phil, a great cook lives to fish and hopes to catch a fish in "every state." Julie Joy plans to continue her work in genealogy across the country and spend as much time as she can seeking out and visiting with family and friends across the U.S. while keeping everyone up to date on their website.
Just found you not long ago...enjoying the blog! You were near our longest place of abode in this photo...we lived 15 long awful years in Richland before we escaped to greener pastures! For now we live in N.Carolina to be closer to our son's family. One day we likely will join the folks that live in traveling rigs! So for now, enjoying the reading of others adventures! Thanks for sharing. Elizabeth
